Homeowner Tax Deduction Form-1098

When entering this information in turbo tax there is a box about real estate taxes. I input the amount in turbo tax and move on to the next tab. The next tab also asks about Real Estate Taxes, do I input the same information again?

No, that box is only used if your real estate taxes were not included on your 1098.   If you paid any additional taxes, not included in the amount on your 1098, those taxes can be added in that separate real estate tax field.

So in other words what I have right now is double dipping. It’s either one or the other unless I paid more taxes on another property correct?

Correct.   If you enter it in both fields, you will be double dipping.
