You would have to ask the employer why federal taxes weren't withheld. Wait for the actual W2 to come in the mail. There's no hurry to file. The IRS won't be accepting returns until Jan 29.
So you will be waiting awhile to get Accepted or Rejected. And you might get more tax forms in the mail you forgot about or weren't expecting. The employers and banks, etc. don't have to mail the W2 and 1099 forms until Jan 31. That's why we say don't rush to file.

Depending on how you filled in your W-4 and how much you make per pay period that determines how much fed/state taxes are withheld. Did you look at your pay stubs ? Did you not notice the lack of federal withholding when you worked there ? If you needed to have some withholding taken then waiting until after the year ends it too late to do anything about it.
