Hi! My tax due was much higher in 2020 than in 2019 (my income wasn't much higher) - were there any changes in taxes?

For federal tax specifically (NY state tax was about the same). My federal tax due was about 3x what I paid last year

Check your total tax and amount withheld.  Usually, when amount due changes a lot it is because withholdings changed.  So tax bill isn't that different, but your remaining amount when up as you had more money during the year.

TurboTax supplies a 2-year comparison within your documents.

I suggest you look to see if you had a credit last year that you were not eligible for this year, such as Child Tax Credit or an Education Credit.
