An extension does not give you extra time to pay your estimated tax due—-which must be paid by April 15, 2026. An extension gives you extra time to prepare your tax return. You have until October 15 to e-file it.

Click here to file an extension which will give you a 6 month extension on the time to file. Please note, it is an extension of the time to file, but NOT the time to pay.
