If you did not receive a reporting form from your job, the income will more than likely need to be reported on Schedule C as Self-Employment income. I am including a entry for Misc Income in the chance that it does not fall into that category.
Didn't get a 1099-Misc for your self-employed income?
Report income without a 1099. Here's how to do that:
- Click on Federal Taxes on the top row of TurboTax Deluxe Online.
- Click Wages & Income
- Under All Income, click Show all income
- Scroll to Self-Employment, click Start
- Click Yes to Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?
- Enter any income from sales or services that weren't reported on Forms 1099-MISC
OTHER INCOME
Since you didn't receive a 1099-MISC, you can report other income simply by following the instructions below:
1. Sign into your TurboTax account.
2. Click Pick up where I left off (if not already open)
3. Click Federal tab
4. Click Wages & Income subcategory.
5. Select I'll choose what I work on option.
6. Scroll all the way down to the Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C (under less common income) and click Start/Update.
7. Click Start/Update next to Other income not already reported on a Form W-2 or Form 1099 and follow the online screen prompts to enter your income.
