Hi, I accidentally said I was sole proprietor when I'm an independent contractor, how do I change it? Or if there is a way to just start over, I haven't gotten far at all

I just clicked the wrong thing and now I can't go back

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2022 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

"Sole proprietor" and "independent contractor" are the same thing for tax purposes. That is just two different ways of saying you are self employed.   Either way, you file Schedule C and will need the TurboTax Self Employed Online version.

Please see the information in this TurboTax FAQ here to determine your status for tax purposes. The FAQ will clarify independent contractor versus an employee for your reference.
