Hi - for the 2nd year in a row I've had to enter a 0 for a line item in form 8812 before I can efile. I don't use the form but it still comes up. Any idea why?

Form 8812 is related to your child tax credit. If you received a child tax credit then the 8812 would be attached to your return automatically.

Thanks for your response. I'm actually retired and I didn't claim the child tax credit so it still seems like it's a bug. The way it asks me to fill in the 0 is odd - it references what I think is the actual field id of the line item.
