Hi All, I filed my taxes early last year and overpaid before they mandated that the first $10,500 of unemployment was not going to be taxed. When will this be fixed?

If you have filed early before the exclusion, the IRS will recalculate your return for the new 10,200 unemployment exemption for you. There is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.
No way to track it. Just keep waiting. The IRS is sending them out in batches over the summer.

IRS just paid another round of refunds yesterday.
If it is not in your bank account, you'll have to wait for an upcoming subsequent round.
But if it was mailed to you, wait for Post Office to deliver it.
