Hello - I’m a server. All my tips get paid on my paycheck and are taxed. I believe I should get the 25k qualified tips deduction, but can’t figure out how in turbo tax

Am I wrong to think I qualify for it? I made over 25k is voluntary tips and I paid taxes on them as income.

Your tips should be shown as Social Security tips in box 7 of your W-2. If so, just proceed through the screens in TurboTax after you enter your W-2. It will ask you some questions to determine your eligibility for the deduction, and will give you the deduction if you qualify.

If the tips are not shown in box 7, is the amount of your tips shown somewhere else on your W-2? If so, where? If the amount is not shown on your W-2, how do you know how much of your income is tips?
