Hello, I filed a Health Coverage Exemption on my 2017 taxes and I would like to know if there is anything else I need to file or paperwork I need to send in? Thank you!

I googled healthcare exemptions and it led me to the following: "How to file a Marketplace affordability exemption" with a list of documents and paperwork I need to mail in, I'm just not sure if that's necessary or not.

Some of the exemptions can be filed directly from the return and some need to go through the Marketplace to receive an exemption certificate number.

When you fill out the Health Section in TurboTax, if you select that insurance was unaffordable, TurboTax will fill out a Form 8965, Health Coverage Exemptions, for your return.  This exemption may be claimed directly on your tax return and does not require an exemption certificate from the Marketplace.
