hello I am using turbotax premium Joint filing, standard deduction However I did pay extra tax using 1040-es ( estimated payment ) straight to irs - how to report that?

The online version of Turbotax premium does not let me open the 1040 form and enter the extra payment that I made to IRS in Dec 2025

To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to

Federal on left or at top (Personal for Home & Business)

Deductions and Credits

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Estimates - click the Start or Update button

When you click in the left column tab for Deductions & Credits, it may take you to a page called "Your Tax Breaks. Lower on that same screen should be a button or link for "Add more tax breaks" or "Show more tax breaks" or similar wording. When clicked, then the screen should expand, and all the deduction topics are displayed including "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid." Then that topic can be expanded further to get the subtopic Estimated Tax Payments.

fyi online does not have Forms mode. all entries must be made using the interview mode. any direct entry on a 1040 Form or Schedule will prevent e-filing.

Thank you for the detailed response. After I posed the question, I found out where to type that in. When I asked for help though - I was offered either this community where you stepped in, or to pay a professional  - and spend ~ $200 for this !:-)
