MY DEPENDENT HAD A JOB
If your dependent has a W-2 for his after-school job, summer job, etc. you do not include the information on your own return. You can still claim your child as a dependent on your own return. He/she can file his own return for a refund of some of his withheld wages (he won’t get back anything for Social Security or Medicare), but MUST indicate on it that he can be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return. (Supervise this closely or prepare it for him!)
If your dependent’s earnings were over $400 and were reported on a 1099Misc then he must file a return and pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare. You may want to use this version of TT for that:

You do not enter your daughter's W-2 income on your tax return. She files her own tax return and enters the W-2 income. When you prepares her return, she must indicate on her return that she can be claimed by someone else.
Depending on how much income she had, she may not actually be required to file a tax return. The standard deduction for a person filing as Single is $12,200 so she could make up to that amount before having to file a tax return. However, if she had federal income tax withheld, she should go ahead and file a tax return to get a refund even if she isn't required to file it.
Her wages are only reported on her return ... that is why there is no option to add them to your return. Make extra sure that she makes sure to check the box that she will be claimed as a dependent...
