Health insurance tax fee

Found out I got a $695 fee for not having health insurance. I had health insurance the last five months of the year but never put it on my taxes. Would that make a difference in my return? Thanks"

It would.  If you include this information you will reduce the penalty proportionate to the months in the year you still did not have insurance.  Your penalty would be reduced by 5/12, or $290.
