I rented a house and live on my own until august 2016, then i moved in with my boyfriend. Since I paid for more than half my expenses in 2016. Do i file single or head of household since we now have same address?

Do you have a qualifying dependent?  If not, you are single.

You need to pay more than 1/2 of the household for you and your son.  As your post suggests you did that, you would qualify for HOH rates.
