Currently, TurboTax supports the manual entry of IRS Form 1099-DA. We are in the process of enhancing our CSV import and upload features to make this process more seamless.
If you are ready to file now, you can still enter your information manually. Otherwise, thank you for your patience while we get these automated tools ready for you!
update this post with the approximate time csv files will be working
The help article on this topic, last updated February 3, 2026, still indicates that CSV uploads for crypto are temporarily unavailable. The article should be updated when this changes. We don't have a definite date as yet. There were major changes to the types of files supported.
Hi. Is there any update to this? I contacted the help desk and they do not seem to know that this issue is outstanding. Any anticipated date for a fix? Thanks!
We have no further status update since I posted in this thread on March 2nd. The help article on this topic will be updated when the issue is resolved.
Hi! Is there any update on this? Would like to file(not manually). Thanks!!
If you cannot upload your 1099-DA, you can enter Sales Section Totals for your digital asset transactions in TurboTax. You will group your transactions by category (e.g., short-term/long-term, covered/noncovered) and enter the total proceeds and cost basis.
Go to Income > Investments Income > Stocks, Crypto, Mutual Funds and Start/Update. On the next page "Lets Finish Pulling in Your Investments" scroll way down to "Add Investments", and "Skip Import". On the next page, click on the "Digital Assets" tile and indicate "Yes" you received a 1099-DA.
If you indicate you had "more than four sales", on the next page choose "Sales Section Totals". The sales section titles should be above each table of sales. Examples include:
On some 1099-DAs, sales can be listed across rows.

Yes, I have done that, thank you. My problem is not being able to upload my 1099-DA and Turbo Tax telling me I have to mail paper copies in, like we’re living in the 1900’s.
This is a normal procedure. Keep in mind that Form 1099-DA is not required until 2026 and could be part of the reason for challenges.
Any digital currency you purchase becomes income at the time you redeem or sell the digital currency and must be reported .
