Have to File in TN if work in TN but like in VA

I work in TN, live in VA, do I have to file in TN as TN does not have state income tax and TurboTax keeps sending message TN forms not ready yet so I cannot file my VA state income tax for 2021. Thank you for any information you can provide.

You do not have to file a Tennessee tax return. Tennessee never taxed wages. The state had a tax on interest and dividends called the Hall Tax which was repealed for tax periods that began on January 1, 2021, or later.

Go back to My Info.

1. Select My Info in the left column
2. On Personal info summary tap Edit on Other state income if you have Tennessee listed.
3. On Did you make money in any other states? say No, even though you worked in TN. Tap Continue.
4. Select State in the left column
5. Tennessee should be gone. If not, use the trash can to delete TN.
