Not sure what you mean.
Pretty sure that's where they are supposed to end up....that actual tax form that the IRS gets showing the total $$ from all box 2a $$ on all 1099-DIV forms you may have....(for those who have more than one 1099-DIV)
My box 2a $$ from the 1099-DIV have been transferring to that line for years and years.
As far as I know, they've always been transferred on that line......
Just checked my 2015 Schedule D...and the $$ from box 2a on my 1099-DIV transferred to line 13 on the Schedule D back then too.
That is the correct tax treatment. The amounts reported on Form 1099-DIV in box 2a "Total capital gain distr." are supposed to flow to Schedule D Line 13 "capital gain distributions;" you don't have anything to worry about.
Every time I started TurbTax, it changed a value that I had entered correctly on a 1099-DIV form, thus changing dramatically the amount of taxes owed. This is unacceptable. Then when I edited the 1099-DIV entry back, it changed back the amount of taxes due. So I started a new tax form and reentered all data; then the problem went away.
At first I thought this only happened after a software update, but it happened every time I restarted TurboTax desktop.
