Mailed in returns do not get an accepted notice (that is only if you e-file that you get the accepted status). The IRS is backlogged so it can take 4 to 8 weeks for information to show on the IRS website or State. Then is can take up to 6 months to process a mailed in return.

If you mailed in the return then prepare for a long long wait ... paper returns are taking 6 months or much much longer to process again this year. And until the envelope is opened and the data input operator enters it in the system the WMR? tool will not even show it in the system for processing.
