Hello everyone,
I mailed my tax refund (because of my tax situation I am only allowed to mail, not e-file) on June 10, 2020. I've been checking my tax refund status and it's still not showing any information. I understand the website says to wait at least 6 weeks but the tax refund deadline is in three days, so I'm no sure what to do.
I didn't mail it with a tracking number. I did mail my state refund at the same time and that one was received and processed, but I'm not sure about the federal one. Should I just wait and see what happens? Should I mail it again (with tracking) to ensure I know when it's been received?
Thank you!

As long as your return is postmarked by the deadline, you are fine.
MAILED RETURNS
Per the IRS website IRS Operations During COVID-19: Mission-critical functions continue: The IRS is not currently able to process individual paper tax returns. If you already have filed via paper but it has not yet been processed, do not file a second tax return or write to the IRS to inquire about the status of your return or your economic impact payment. Paper returns will be processed once processing centers are able to reopen.
If you mail a tax return (or a payment) to the IRS, it is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it like UPS or certified mail so you will know it was received.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.
TurboTax will not know anything about your mailed return, and will continue to show “Ready to Mail” on your account. TurboTax will not know that you put your tax return in an envelope and took it to a mailbox. TurboTax does not get updates on mailed (or e-filed) returns.
When the IRS finally opens its mail and begins to process mailed returns you can check the status on the IRS site. https://www.irs.gov/refunds
State returns have to be mailed to the state.

Thank you so much for your reply!
My only concern is how can I be sure that they got it/will get it? I mailed it but I have no way to confirm that they got it, and per your message I shouldn't send a second tax return, so that's why I'm unsure of what to do.
@julianhtc Sorry that there is no sure way to know. You and a whole lot of others are in the same situation--your tax return has likely been stacked up in a trailer for months and you have no way to know if it was received unless originally used tracking when it was sent. A lesson never to forget when dealing with the IRS. The IRS is telling people to please not mail more returns since they are already drowning in envelopes. So-- it is up to your judgement-- to mail or not to mail?
