Do i need to send the exact amount on 1040-es voucher turbo tax created? For example it the voucher says $1,000 can I send $2,000 and still attach the $1,000 voucher?

get out a pencil and change the "1" to a "2".

I thought of that, but isn't $1,000 also embedded in a bar code at the bottom of the voucher?

Doesn't look like it on mine.  Just ssn, first 4 letters of last name and the year and some stray numbers that don't match anything.
