Why am I getting charged to file my taxes when I qualify to file them for free?

Free is limited to 1040EZ/1040A and state taxes for free and so can you, if you:

Made less than $100,000
Don't own a home or rental property
Didn't sell investments
Don't own a business or have 1099-MISC income
Don't have any major medical expenses

Check your fees this way to see what all you are being charged for:

Open your return, and in the left menu column click on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS.
Then in the Tools window click the blue button MY FEES.

To see your receipt:

On your TurboTax home page

Click Taxes
Click My Tax Timeline
Scroll down to things you can do
Click Get Order details

I am not a TT employee.

I hope this helped.

**I don't work for TT. Just trying to help. All the best.
