Form 8606 from past year does not show total IRA balance that I recall entering. Any idea why this happens?

I have tIRAs. I recall entering the total tIRA balance last time in TurboTax but this year when I go search for it , it does not show up. Any one else has this issue?

In TurboTax Online, access IRS form 8606 Nondeductible IRA's as follows:

1. Select Tax tool, then Tools down the left side of the screen.
2. Under Tools Center, select Topic Search.  Enter '8606' in Topic Search and select Go.
3. At the screen Tell us about your IRA's, select Traditional IRA.  Click Continue.

Nothing about a year-end IRA balance for some year prior to 2025 has any bearing on how your 2025 tax return is prepared, so this information does not carry forward from year to year.

If you mean that your 2025 year-end balance is not appearing on line 6 of your 2025 Form 8606 despite having entered it into 2025 TurboTax and you made a traditional IRA distribution, it's likely that lines 13 and 15 have asterisks indicating that calculations are being done using Worksheet 1-1 of IRS Pub 590-B.  In that case lines 6 through 12 of Form 8606 are to be left blank.
