Form 56 Notice Concerning Fiduciary Relationship

As the Trustee of my late father’s Trust I filed this form with the IRS before I filed the 1041 Tax Return for 2024, which was the Trust’s initial tax return, but I never received a confirmation letter from the IRS. Do they usually send one? Thanks!

The IRS generally does not send a confirmation of receipt for form 56. 

For this reason, it is advisable to send the form by certified mail with a return receipt to document that the IRS has received it.
