Part II, line 3 of Form 2441 will be $1,700, the amount you paid to your daycare provider. $6,000 is the maximum amount for two children. You won't get the maximum unless you paid at least $6,000.
The child care expenses you can deduct are limited to $3,000 per child and a maximum of $6,000 for two or more children. However, you can only enter the amounts you actually paid.
In your case, line 3 of Part II should be $1,700 -- the amount you actually spent on child care.
