For Deluxe version. My AGI is $22,607, my taxable income is $0, filling joint, no children. Since my AGI is below $22,710, but TurboTax is saying my EIC is $0?

I am using the Deluxe version. My adjusted gross income is $22,607, my taxable income is $0, and I am filling joint with my wife and we have no children. According to the IRS I should qualify for EIC since my AGI is below $22,710. However, TurboTax is saying my EIC is $0. Do you know why is that?

You earned too much to be eligible for EIC.   The limit is $22, 610.  You are three dollars under the upper limit.

the Earned Income Credit—-the rules are back to the “old” rules—

Those under 25 and over 65 without children are not eligible as they were uniquely in 2021.   And you cannot use your income from any earlier tax year to get the EIC for a 2022 return.  There is no “lookback” for 2022.  EIC for 2022 will be based on the income you earned by working in 2022.

Hello:

You didn't mention your age.  You must be between 25 and 64.

If you can't find the answer, open your return and click on My Account.

Then you can search eic.  You many get additional information that will explain why

you don't qualify.
