First year of self-employment

How do we report self-employment income that does not come with a 1099 (i.e. private lessons)?

First year of self-employment

It's reported on Schedule C for self-employment if you are a sole proprietor.  In the TurboTax software you will enter it as Other Self-employed income.  The step-by-step instructions can be found at this link.  Scroll past the first set of instructions since you don't have a 1099 form.

You can also deduct any ordinary and necessary business expenses.  This is a great article that can help you out with deduction types.  Also, the TurboTax software has a great interface to make sure you claim all you are entitled to claim.
