First thing you will have to do is upgrade to self-employed version of TurboTax. Here’s how to upgrade to the Self-Employed version of TurboTax Online:

Once you’ve upgraded to a Self-Employed account, you’ll add your Uber income. Please refer to the following TurboTax FAQ for information on Where you enter your Uber income: (The follow this link in the FAQ will guide you step by step on how to enter both your 1099-misc & your 1099-K forms)

You will enter your Uber 1099-MISC income and expenses on Schedule C Profit of Loss from Business.  To enter your 1099-MISC in TurboTax Premier follow these steps.

  • With TurboTax open select the Wages & Income Tab

  • On the page Your income select Self-employment income and expenses

  • Follow the prompts to enter your 1099-MISC income and expenses.
