Filing Status Question

Hello! My husband and I got married towards the end of December 2024 last year. What filing status should we choose for our taxes, considering we signed official documents before Dec. 31st?

Filing Status Question

Since you were legally married in 2024 then you have to file your tax return as either Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately.  You would want to file as MFJ even if one spouse has little or no income.  You receive the highest Standard Deduction and you are in the lowest tax brackets.
