That would look like you filed as Married Filing Jointly with one dependent since the amount adjusted is $4,200 at $1,400 per person.

Did you indicate on your tax return that you did NOT receive the 3rd stimulus payment?  If so, the IRS records show that the stimulus payment was sent to you so they adjusted your tax return accordingly.

Check you bank account for the March - May 2021 timeframe and see if there is a deposit of $4,200.

If not and you never received the stimulus payments then you can start a trace on the payment using the information in this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-p...

Edit answer for only 'one' dependent.

I did this through Turbo Tax, I believe I put unsure or unknown because I could not remember if we did.  After filing ended up we didn't receive the 3rd stimulus.  Only the monthly payments for CTC, which I included that in the return & letter from IRS regarding that we did receive those monthly CTC payments.

Then the IRS has records indicating you were sent the $4,200 in stimulus payments.  That is why they adjusted your tax return by $4,200.

Do you have the $4,200 on line 30?  The IRS says they already sent it to you.

If you claimed a missing stimulus payment on your return but the IRS took it off you have to ask the IRS. They think they already sent it to you.  Maybe it went to an account you don't remember. Or you got a check or a card. It was probably easy to miss the debit card in the mail and think it was junk mail. They have to put a trace on it.

Check your IRS account to see what they sent you (check both spouse's accounts if married)
