Filing "married filing separately." Previously filed jointly. Turbotax recommends starting a new return rather than transferring old info and deleting what's not applicable

But there is a rental property that will stay on my return. If I start a new return, can I access the history of that property-- amortization, etc.

What most people do in your situation is start a brand new Turbo Tax account when filing married filing separately. You can login to the old Turbo Tax account and the information you need for the rental will be there, and you can add it to your return under the new account.
