Filing married filing jointly and when entering 1099B details I cannot specify which one of us owns the 1099B gain or loss

Filing married filing jointly and when entering 1099B details I cannot specify which one of us owns the 1099B gain or loss. This is not critical for Federal return but it IS for the State of Delaware return where we file separately but combined (option 4).

Can you help us with this 2019 turbo tax software issue? What is the workaround. Would rather not update the form directly.

Thanks.

This cannot be done in the Online TT program ... when you get to the DE input screen you will need to allocate this yourself.   It will bring the fed total and ask you for the spouse's portion. 1.png

The only way to show the owner of the investment sale is to use Forms mode.

Open the Capital Gain (Loss) Transaction Worksheet (Cap Gain Wks)

In Part III Disposition Information you can indicate who owns the investment sale.
