Filing jointly with my wife. I reside in Nassau County (Long Island), but my wife will be staying in NYC. Do I need to file separate for NY City Tax?

I am residing in Nassau County where I don't get taxed a NY City Tax. For the time being, my wife will be residing in Bayside Ny (Party of NYC)  which will be taxed NY City Tax. Do I need to file separately or is there a way we can separate the income for NYC residency? Thank you in advance.

Greetings!

Generally, the form that you would want to fill out using TurboTax is form IT-360.1.

You can allocate specifically what income is attributed to New York City. In this case, it would be only the spouse income based on your post.

Best regards!
