From what website did you download the 2019 TurboTax desktop software?

If you used the TurboTax website, the software does not ask nor does it try to access your calendar, photos, and contacts.

Did you use this TurboTax website to purchase and download one of the 2019 TurboTax desktop editions - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

What?  If you purchased that software from some cut-rate online site for a cheap price beware of malware.  There is no reason that TurboTax software would want access to your calendar, photos, etc. and worse---get into your credit card information--which is what it might be trying to do.

I'm not entirely sure that Turbotax doesn't ask for those things normally, I haven't installed 2019 recently, and if you are asking from a Mac, the latest Mac OS has a slew of new privacy protections.

Turbotax may ask for access to photos because some versions allow you to enter a photo of your W-2 instead of typing things in manually.  It might ask for calendar permissions to put reminders on your calendar (like April 15 is coming).  I can't think of a good reason to ask for contacts unless it wants to import your contact information.

You can decline all these permissions without affecting the function of the program.

It's also possible that, if you bought the program from an unauthorized vendor, that something bad was added, but there is no way to independently verify that.

What kind of computer did you install it on?  You need a full  Windows or Mac computer.  I've never seen it ask to access anything like that.  Did it get installed and you entered the 14 digit License Code to activate it?
