@naveenkumarknk - this sounds like the REcovery Rebate on Line 30 of Form 1040.
1) what do you have on that line?
you were eligible for the 3rd stimulus or the Recovery Rebate, but not both. if you received the 3rd stimulus (normally $1400 per person listed on the tax return) during March - May. 2021 (check you bank statements!), then Line 30 should have been zero.
The fact that the IRS adjusted Line 30 means their records indicate they sent you the money; but you putting a number on Line 30 says you didn't.
does that make sense? please post what is on Line 30 and does that reflect the IRS adjustment?

thank you very much for the reply.
Yes I received one stimulus check on my name in the same time period that you mentioned in the reply.
But this is the only one stimulus I received under only on my name.
I am on H1 SSN holder ,My wife and kids does not have the SSN .is that the reason they will not get this stimulus and as i am on H1 I received only once ?
If it is like that they I will pay for the amount they mentioned but just wanted to make sure the letter is not a scam .and How I have to pay this ? Can I pay it through Turbo Tax?
Thanks,
Naveen
@naveenkumarknk Are you a non-resident alien? You did not mention anything about that until your most recent post in this thread.
I suspect the problem may have stemmed from the use of TurboTax. If you are a non-resident alien then you should not have used TurboTax at all. TurboTax does not support Form 1040NR. You should have used sprintax instead, and the stimulus check problem would have been avoided.
NON RESIDENT ALIEN
If you are a non-resident alien, your return must be filed on Form 1040NR, which cannot be prepared using TurboTax. You can use TT’s partner, sprintax:

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I am on H1B.
I do not know that I should not use Turbo tax .My friends also using this.
Will note that.Next time will use different .
Thanks for the reply .
Thanks,
Naveen
@naveenkumarknk - the stimulus (and the Recovery Rebate) were limited to US citizens and US resident aliens. Included in that requirement was a SSN issued prior to April 17, 2022 for the 3rd stimulus.
does that help?
And if you incorrectly received that $1400 you have to pay it back. You do not do that through TurboTax. You follow the instructions for repayment that are on the letter you received from the IRS.
