Federal return rejected; it wants my late wife's AGI

We filed jointly last year and I understand that I'm supposed to enter the full AGI amount from last year, but it keeps rejecting it anyway. TurboTax recommended I file as "married, filing jointly," despite having been widowed for six months. Should I go back and do it again as "single" or "head of household?" That's the only thing I can think of. (Side note: I was the only one earning any income this or last year anyway.)

Federal return rejected; it wants my late wife's AGI

If your wife passed away during 2019, you can (and should) file Married Filing Jointly.  Are you using last years AGI number for both you and your late wife?  Both yours and your wife's AGI will be the same number.

Unfortunately, without the correct number or a match to the IRS system, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.

This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

OK. I thought that might be the case. How do I get my $19.99 back for filing electronically with the Sate of California?
