Father died 07/01/20. My Info in TT, date passed away cannot be before 01/01/2021. He had 2021 int inc <$1k, and <$1k ded. TT won't let me past this page. What to do?

Father died 07/01/20. On the My Info page in TT, it says the "date passed away cannot be before 01/01/2021". His estate has not yet been completely settled. He had 2021 interest income of <$1k, and <$1k deductions. TT won't let me past this page. I'm sure I need to file. What to do?

He doesn't file a personal 1040 return for 2021.  That all goes on the Estate tax return.   And actually anything that came in after he died on July 1, 2020 should go on the Estate return. not his 2020 return.

Yes but you really should go to an accountant to do it right.   Don't you have one yet?
