Just to check - If your divorce was finalized after 2018 alimony payments are no longer taxable or deductible.
If you do not enter the Social Security number (SSN) ex-spouse receiving the payments, your deduction may be disallowed and you may have to pay a $50 penalty. You may be able to ask your attorney to compel disclosure if you are able to deduct the alimony.
However, alimony is deductible by the payer spouse and includible in the recipient spouse's income if paid under a divorce or separation agreement executed before 2019.
