Every time I am told TurboTax must be updated I am asked for an activation code. After a few updates I'm told I've exceeded the maximum number of activations.

When that happens I cannot even bring up my completed tax file.  WHY DOES DOING A SIMPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE EVEN ASK FOR AN ACTIVATION CODE??

On a Windows computer, it indicates a problem with the Windows Registry file on your PC.  You may be able to resolve the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling the program, but I would start by calling support as indicated.
