EV Tax Credit for Car Reserved in 2022

How does the tax credit apply for an EV that was reserved in July 2022 but have not yet taken delivery of (expected delivery later this calendar year)?

A qualifying plug-in electric vehicle must be placed in service during the tax year and the taxpayer must own the vehicle (if leased, only the lessor) in order to receive the credit.
