Estimated tax

I’m still paying off a balance to the IRS from 2019. I sent an estimated tax payment for my business to the irs. Will that payment be used for the current tax year or be applied to my old balance

Depends how you paid it. If you sent it with a 1040ES slip it will go to your 2024 tax return. Then any refunds you get in the future will go to past due amounts.
