Estimated quarterly taxes

If you don't make the same 1099  income each quarter, how are you supposted to send estimated taxes?

Since the estimated taxes are not due until 2 weeks after the quarter, can you wait to until then to see what your income is and send the estimated taxes appropriately?  What happens if you don't send the same amount each quarter?  I never make the same amount of money each quarter.  My business is seasonal.

Thanks,

x

Estimated quarterly taxes

The 1040ES estimated payments are optional to pay.  They don't get sent to the IRS with your tax return so they won't be expecting them.  You can change the amount each quarter.  Just cross out the amount and write in a new amount or pay directly online.

Here are the blank Estimates and instructions…..

Or you can pay on the IRS website. Be sure to pick 2025 1040ES payment
