Estimate 2024 California state taxes

How do I estimate my California state taxes for 2024?

I was able to use Turbo Tax to estimate the federal taxes for 2024 but I can't find how to do the same for state.

This calculator is for 2023 but will give you a reasonable estimate for 2024.

Are you using the 2023 Desktop program to do the estimates?  See if my old notes help….

If you have already been though the state return section, then to prepare the state estimates (I finally found it for California) by clicking on the State Taxes tab.  Then click Edit by your state.  It will say to wrap up and Continue.  Then on the next screen you will get 3 choices:

I'm Done, let's go to review

I've made federal changes let's go over California one more time.  I'd like to view or update a specific area of my California Return.

Pick the last one and then on the next screen scroll down to Other Forms - File Estimates

To prepare state estimates you have to go though the state tax tab and towards the very end of the state interview it will ask if you want to prepare estimates.
