Error trying to load saved TurboTax 2020 for MAC return due to State install failure

I had to change Mac devices so I re-downloaded TurboTax for Mac 2020 from my intuit online advantage account and installed on the new machine. After I license and launch I attempt to open a saved 2020 return file and it indicates since the state is part of the return it needs to install it for Turbotax. I select the State MI and when it tries to install it fails and says it had an issue. I am then stuck that I can't open the return without the state installed however it will never install. All help topics referencing this issue are for Windows Turbotax but not Mac. Please advise.

Are you sure the state installed?  Did you slide the state to the application folder and then did you click on the state to open and run?  You may need to close entirely out of the program and then click on the state to install and run.  This works for 2024, so it should for 2020 as well.
