Entering self-employment expeses without upgrade to TurboTax self-employment?

I'm trying to enter profit and losses for self-employment, and the TurboTax site is telling me I have to pay more, upgrading to Self-Employed version of software, in order to enter expenses.  I do not need guidance/support on expenses. I already have the Schedule C info calculated.  Can I avoid the software upgrade?  Seems like an unfair sales pitch to deadend my filing at that point unless I upgrade.  Thanks.

If you want to claim expenses for 1099-MISC income, you have to upgrade to the Self Employed version of TurboTax.
