Now that Turbo tax is able to handle CSV importing for Crypto and up to 10K lines for brokerage trades, we're getting closer than 2021's disaster of no E-Trade imports. I hope Turbo tax will up it a notch for securities traders.
For those of us who are using the Mark to Market accounting method (Section 475 traders) - We are still stuck manually managing trade transactions and unable to use Turbo tax to import or file electronically.
My Request: Add the functionality to upload transactions from a CSV into Turbo Tax that can be imported directly into form 4797 part II, Line 10. This is where traders post their transactions for trading from their brokerage(s). Without this feature and thousands of transactions, I have to send in a paper return with manually generated 4797 substitute forms.
I was originally going to suggest a direct import from the brokerage but that will not work for traders like me who are not subject to wash sale rules, may have carryover transactions, and purchase/sell from various lots. Having the import feature to the massaged data would be great!
