Electronic Certificaiton of Filing return

My filing was on time but rejected by IRS. I fixed what I thought was the issue and resubmitted after deadline. That resubmittal was rejected again. I am attempting to mail my 1040 and a Electronic Postmark of certification was printed but it has the 2nd filing date which was after deadline. How do I get one with the 1st filing to include in the paperwork.

If you got the electronic postmark it sounds like it was efiled.   To check in the Desktop program open your return and go up to menu item

File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status

Do you have a tax due or refund?  If you have a refund it's ok to file late.

I don't think you need to mail it.  The Electronic Postmark says it was efiled.
