Each username on MacOS is being required to activate TurboTax

This started in TurboTax 2021 and is still happening in TurboTax 2022. I have a Macintosh computer with more than one username for different users to use the same machine.

 

I log into my administrator account, install TurboTax on the machine, and activate the software. That works fine.  However, when another user of the machine logs into their user account, which is also an administrator account, they are required to activate TurboTax again.

 

TurboTax is supposed to be limited to activation on 5 different machines; not 5 different accounts on the same machine.  How to I get TurboTax to be activated once and for all across all user accounts on the same machine?

I have solved my own issue.  I made a copy of the TurboTax 2022 subdirectory

from

/Users/my_account/Library/Application\ Support/TurboTax\ 2022

to

/Users/other_account/Library/Application\ Support/TurboTax\ 2022

I was then able to log into other_account and use TurboTax 2022.

I contacted Support BEFORE I posted my question in the Community forum. The representative I spoke to searched her knowledge base for 20 minutes before giving up. So I posted my question here in the Community with the hopes that a knowledgeable user might have the answer.

I will page another Champ -  @xmasbaby0 - since she uses a Mac (I believe) so perhaps she has some insight.

I do use a Mac, but I cannot tell you how to solve the problem you are having.  Sorry.  Maybe Champ @macuser_22 

can help, or maybe Apple support.

@macuser_22 is no longer using a Mac for TurboTax (older Mac O/S so using a Win version this year).
