E-filed taxes rejected for 2018 and corrected straight with IRS with paper filing. Can I get credit or refund for cost I paid turbo tax this past filing period?

When using the TurboTax online editions there are no e-file charges for either a federal or state tax return.  The TurboTax account fees are for the use of the software to assist in completing a tax return.  The TurboTax account fees are the same whether a tax return is e-filed or printed for mailing.

When using the online version of TurboTax as you did, you pay for the use of the software. It doesn't matter if your e-file, or print, sign and mail your return to the IRS. The price is still the same regardless of which filing method you may use.

With the CD version of the program that you physically install on your Windows or MAC computer, you pay one price for the software. Then you can use that software to prepare and file as many returns as you like. However, per IRS limitations you can only e-file a maximum of 5 federal returns. After that, you have to print, sign and mail additional federal returns to the IRS.
