E-file was rejected due to screwed up SSN. Can I refile federal electronically (AZ state already says no, has to be mailed)?

E-filed both and both were rejected. I fixed this simple error but it is not clear if I have to snail-mail an amended form to the feds, or if I can resubmit it electronically. It would appear that for the state (AZ) I am forced to print out and mail the whole thing with an attached 140X.

Thank you Mike9241.

It's what TurboTax online said -- the message indicated that due to rejection, efile was no longer an option. This was also stated on the 140X form, that it had to be mailed in, not electronic. I plan to contact TT support, just thought I'd float it to the community first.

So here's a follow-up:

TT Tech support tried to help but could not. It appears that once you change delivery method to snail-mail and fill out amended forms, the software will not permit (does not provide any way to) change back to e-file. What is maddening about this is that it was simply a typo on one SSN -- one would think this a simple thing to correct and then resubmit... but no.
