I thought that might be the case.  Here's one common reason for a zero-income return:  Did you have foreign earned income and excluded all the income with the Foreign Income Exclusion?  Or was there another reason?

You cannot efile a zero-income return.   I'm a fellow user, not a tax expert, but I have seen some people in this forum use a workaround by adding $1.00 in interest income.  That allowed them to efile.
